Description

Purpose of the position:
Run scoreclocks, 24 second shot clock or paper scoresheet

Responsibilities and Activities:
Track running score and maintain score clocks for basketball tournament

Date/ Time of the event or activity:

June 14, 19 (Friday) 10 am to 6 pm
June 15, 19 (Saturday) 9 am to 6 pm
June 16, 19 (Sunday) 10 am to 4 pm

Working conditions:
Sitting courtside at scorers table

Benefits to the volunteer:
Experience in international sporting event. Connections in public safety community.

Additional information about the position: Volunteers will be provided with onsite coffee and food.

Skills, experience, abilities required:
Good knowledge of basics of basketball

Personal traits/qualities desired:
Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions in intense environment

Languages:
English

Training required for this position:
All volunteers will be required to attend an orientation presented by a BCBOA official explaining basics of scorekeeping.

Minimum Time Commitment expected:
2 days 16 hours

Purpose of the position:
Film basketball games and site during Battle of the Badges Canada

Responsibilities and Activities:
Use camera or phone based camera to live feed games and also upload pictures to social media sites

Date/ Time of the event or activity:
June 14-16 approximately 10-7 each day

Site location:
Richmond Olympic Oval

Working conditions:
Must be able to move about the tournament area and 3 courts to film games

Benefits to the volunteer:
Experience promoting and filming International Police and Fire Basketball Tournaments. Building connections with those in the Public Safety community.

Additional information about the position: Volunteers will be provided with free food and refreshments while on site.

Skills, experience, abilities required:
Ability to operate camera and phone based camera. Load images to social media sites

Personal traits/qualities desired:
Ability to work independently and focus on exciting parts of the event.

Languages:
Conversational English

Training required for this position:
Brief instructions at start of event

Minimum Time Commitment expected:
2 days
