Ideas Fair on ADVANCING RICHMOND'S CLIMATE LEADERSHIP! 
City of Richmond

Description

The City invites community members to share their ideas on how Richmond can reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 50 per cent by 2030. The City of Richmond has already successfully reduced emissions by 12 per cent city-wide since 2007, implementing the 2014 Community Energy and Emissions Plan.

A Community Ideas Fair will be held on Tuesday, June 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Richmond City Hall (6911 No. 3 Road) to launch the next phase of community conversations on how Richmond can advance its leadership on climate action.

What types of volunteer tasks are available?

1.) Greet community members and help with way finding.
2.) Assist staff with educating community members at display booths.
3.) Set up and tear down of event site.

What time do we need you?

Two shifts will be available:

3 to 7 pm
5 to 9 pm

Dress Code: comfortable clothing

By volunteering for the Ideas Fair, you will:

a.) Have fun (mandatory!)
b.) Help provide a valued service to your community
c.) Meet community members who care about advancing Richmond's climate leadership
d.) Enhance your resumé and gain practical work experience
e.) Get a coupon for five free rides with Ugogo Bike https://www.u-bicycle.ca/ in addition to an entry to win an annual Ugogo pass
f.) Get access to complimentary hot drinks and light refreshments
g.) Free dinner (let us know of your dietary restrictions)
h.) Share your ideas on how Richmond will reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions

Who are we looking for?

For this event, we are looking for different types of folks, including those who are:

a.) Energetic and friendly
b.) Respectful of others, and their different ideas
c.) Comfortable with approaching people to offer help
d.) Able to work independently
e.) Dependable
f.) Environmentally aware


Nice to have:

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (tables, chairs, etc.)
Languages other than English are an asset. Please indicate which language(s) you're comfortable speaking in.
