Living History Program-Heritage Ambassador-Information Session
Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site

Description

Be a part of the new Living History program at the Steveston Heritage Sites!

Join us to learn about the new unique volunteer opportunities at Britannia Shipyards, the Steveston Tram, the Steveston Museum and London Heritage Farm.

As a Heritage Ambassador volunteer, you will share the stories of the people who lived and worked at the four locations. You will be dressed in period costumes, while demonstrating activities such as playing cards, churning butter, sewing, explaining tram car mechanics and much more.

No experience is necessary. Training is provided. Volunteers will not be acting/in character. Volunteers must be 15+, outgoing, passionate about history and willing to share their knowledge and enthusiasm with the public.

The shift times, days and activities vary across sites. Generally, shifts take place 11:45am-4:15pm, 7 days a week. A commitment of 6 shifts from May-September is required.
