Description

Interested in Arts, Culture and Heritage? As our Doors Open Richmond volunteer, you will have exclusive access to learn more about Richmond's unique ties to all three areas. This year's Doors Open Richmond falls on June 2nd and 3rd. We are seeking 30 volunteers to assist at various locations around Richmond. These sites include: Steveston Interurban Tram, Steveston Museum, and Minoru Chapel.

While each site is unique, duties will include:
- Greeting and engaging with visitors
- Handing out map brochures
- Keeping track of the number of visitors at each site
- Assisting with set up and take down
- Assisting with children's craft activities (if offered)
- Encouraging visitors to fill out ballots for our prize draw
- Crowd control (directing people to correct entrances, washrooms, etc.)
- Other promotional duties as required


Shifts are a minimum 3.5 hour time commitment on either Saturday or Sunday. We love people who can do a whole day shift (with a break of course) or shifts on both days.

- Morning: 9:30 AM 1:00 PM (3.5 hr shift with no break)
- Afternoon: 12:45 PM 4:15 PM (3.5 hr shift with no break)
- Full Day: 9:30 AM 4:15 PM (7 hr shift with 30 min break)


Requirements:

This volunteer position is suited for people 15 and older who enjoy working with children and families and are comfortable with large crowds.

We also require that volunteers attend ONE volunteer orientation session held in May.


Volunteer Orientation Sessions will be held at the Steveston Interurban Tram (4011 Moncton Street) on May 17th

- Session 1: May 17th 5:00 PM 6:00 PM
- Session 2: May 17th 6:30 PM 7:30 PM
