Information on Selected Volunteer Opportunity

2018 Walk Britannia's Historic Docks Volunteer 
Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site

Description

Spend some time at Britannia and welcome visitors from around the world to our Shipyard building and dock, where they can view historic vessels and enjoy scenic waterfront views. This position may be working inside the Shipyard building, or outside on the dock. On Sundays, we welcome the River Queen Water Shuttle to our docks, so volunteers will be assisting visitors on and off the boat. Shifts will run from 12:00-4:00pm on Saturdays or Sundays.

Volunteers must be:
-at least 18 years old
-interested in history, boats, tourism and/or customer service
-willing to stand for the duration of their shift
-willing to be outside, potentially standing on our floats (with a lifejacked, provided by us)
-willing to learn our site/building history and our dock safety procedures
-willing to work two shifts per month, during July and August
-willing to do a Police Information Check
