Childrens Committee Member 2019 - 2020 
Thompson Community Centre

Description

The Thompson Community Association Children's Committee works cooperatively with City and Association staff in the development, planning and evaluation of children's programs, services and events in the Thompson Area. The primary initiatives focus on programming surrounding children 0 12 years of age.

We value the input of families whose children are actively involved in our Preschool and various other programs including Sports and Recreation, Dance programs, and Camps . We are seeking community members such as yourself to become more engaged in issues; working together to foster a resilient community.



Responsibilities
* Acts as a resource on children's programs, services and events.
* Provides suggestions for children-specific promotions and target audiences based on community knowledge
* Brainstorms new program ideas seasonally
* Passionate about children and able to work in a team

Additional Information
* All members must complete a Police Information Check
* One year minimum committment
* Attend one meeting once or twice a month
* Volunteer at few community events throughout the year
* Must fill out a separate application and submit your resume

The commitment level is as follows:

Thompson Community Centre is seeking a volunteer to support instructors with Basketball Development lessons for preteens. Should have some previous experience with the sport.

Tuesdays April 16 - June 4, 2019 from 5:45pm to 7:15pm.

Responsibilities
Assist the Instructor(s) with the set up of the class, and attendance of participants
Encourage and build positive relationships with the preteens in the program. Assist and support with drills and activities.

Thompson Community Centre is looking for 4 volunteers to assist with our Easter Eggstravaganza event primarily with face painting.

We are seeking one volunteer to support the instructor with Floor Hockey activities.

The volunteer will assist with set up and clean up, leading exercises and activities, conducting ice-breaker games and build positive relationships with preteens.
