Steveston Community Centre is seeking 1 volunteer to assist the instructor with Art for Two's a fun program for two year olds making crafts, drawing, painting in a fun interactive environment.

9:15am - 11:45am

Responsibilities
Support children during the class, and help the instructor with set-up and take down of art materials.

Additional Information
A Police Information Check is required to volunteer in this program.

Additional info: This volunteer opportunity is for every Sunday.
When you sign up you will automatically be assigned to all Sundays, and you will be expected to volunteer the full duration.

Kite making facilitator June 13 - 14, 2020 
British Columbia Kite Fliers Association (BCKA)

Description

Overview:
The BCKA (British Columbia Kite Fliers Association) is a non-profit organization that promotes the making and flying of kites for all age groups throughout BC.

Event Volunteer Time Commitment:
2 days, 6.5h per day; June 13-14, 2020, 10:00am - 4:30pm

Location:
Garry Point Park, Richmond (Steveston)

Position Description:
Volunteers will be assisting child/teen to build a simple sled kite during the kite festival in Garry Point Park, Richmond, BC. The kite consists of 5 parts, and takes about 5-10 minutes to build. You will be trained on how to build the kite and work with children. There will be supervision in the workshop tent at all times. Each volunteer should be able to build +40 kites each day.

Required Skills and Experience:
Good command of the English language, patience and a sense of humor.

Parkinson's Wellness Exercise Class - Seniors - Ongoing Program

Description

Steveston Community Centre is seeking 1 - 2 volunteers for our Senior's Parkinson's Wellness Exercise Classes. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are interested in health and wellness, fitness or working with older adults.

Tuesdays & Thursdays (ongoing)

Time
1:00 - 2:00pm

Responsibilities
Assist the instructor with set-up of light equipment. Aid participants in class by spotting them and helping with exercises.

Additional Information
Must be able-bodied and have good communication skills. A criminal record check is required for this opportunity.
