Green Ambassador Volunteer 
Environmental Programs


Would you like to earn some volunteer hours over the summer?

Would you like to give back to the community and help the environment?

Environmental Programs is looking for volunteers to assist with recycling education at City events.

Assist with set up/take down of recycling stations
Educate and assist the public with recycling
Provide customer service (answering questions, directing public, etc)

Opportunities Available
July 1: Steveston Salmon Festival
July 27-28: Richmond Maritime Festival
August 10: Farm Fest at Garden City Lands
August 18: Richmond Garlic Festival
August 30-31: Richmond World Festival

Volunteer Benefits
Refreshments and/or meal while on shift
Green Ambassador t-shirt
Develop communication and problem-solving skills
Teamwork experience and leadership opportunities
For high school students with 15+ GA hours: Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor at the end of Grade 12

Additional Requirements
Commit to a minimum of two shifts over the summer
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
Willing to stand and be mobile throughout shift

For new volunteers, attending a GA orientation is mandatory.
