2018 Technology Help Volunteers for 55+ 
City Centre Older Adults Program

Description

Join a team of tech-savvy volunteers who take a leadership role in guiding seniors with technological problems! City Centre Community Centre is seeking mature individuals to instruct seniors with the operation of electronic devices.


Date and Time


Shifts are on Saturdays from 3:00 - 5:00pm; Jan 13 - March 24. No meeting on Feb 10, Mar 31.


A one-hour training will be provided before program start. Date TBA.


Qualifications



  1. Basic understanding of the functions of computers, smart phones, tablets and other electronic devices such as cameras



  1. Strong communications skills: volunteer must speak English and preferably a second language (preferably Cantonese or Mandarin)



  1. Proficiency with common apps, computer programs, and software



  1. Ability to work within a team environment



Responsibilities



  1. Teach and assist seniors with basic troubleshooting of their devices



  1. Set-up and clean-up room



  1. Mandatory commitment of every Saturday from Jan 13 to March 24
