2026 55+ English Conversation Circle Assistant 
City Centre Seniors Program

Description

We are seeking skilled volunteers on Sundays from 3:00pm to 4:30pm to help with the English Conversation Group program at City Centre (5900 Minoru Blvd). This program is an informal drop-in group where seniors practice common English phrases and sentences through conversation.

Volunteer Responsibilities:
1. Help with English language learning activities, conversations, and games for seniors in the group
2. Collaborate with other program volunteers
3. Must commit to entire season. Program runs from now until December with some cancellations on statutory holidays.

Volunteer Qualifications:
1. Patient and friendly
2. Fluency in English required
3. Ability to speak other languages, in particular Cantonese or Mandarin, is desired
4. Previous experience working with seniors is an asset, but is not required
5. Successful candidates will be required to complete and pass a Police Information Check

55+ Private Piano Lessons Volunteer Instructor 
City Centre Seniors Development

Description

We are seeking skilled volunteers who wish to dedicate their time to teach seniors (55+) how to play piano. Currently we are recruiting volunteers to teach at various times.

Overview:
1. Each class is 45 mins long with a student, with a 10 minute break after, continued by another 45 min class with a second student
2. Classes are conducted in a sound-proof music room at City Centre
3. Students are seniors ages 55 and up
4. This is a great learning opportunity for those who are interested in helping seniors, and are looking to gaining experience in teaching
5. The intent of this program is to allow seniors to learn piano in a relaxing, non-intimidating, and fun and therapeutic way
6. These classes teach seniors up to Level 5 in piano
7. Piano books and training opportunities are provided to you as an instructor

Volunteer Requirements
1. Must be able to commit to teach at least two 45 min classes every week for at least 1 season (up to 4 months)
2. Have completed RCM Level 8 in piano (or equivalent musical accreditation) - a scanned copy of your certificate will be requested upon placement
3. Be willing to complete and pass a free Police Information Check
4. Comfortable teaching independently, and is able to adjust your teaching methods to meet the needs of the senior

Nations Cup Event Crew June 5 to 7, 2026 
Nations Cup Soccer Tournament 2026

Description

Purpose of the position:
To perform specific duties assigned by the volunteer coordinator to assist with the operation of the Nations Cup soccer tournament

Responsibilities & Activities:
1. Field Marshall - monitoring games, reporting information from tournament games including game score, goal scorers, cards & delivering/retrieving match balls.

2. Set up/down - assisting with the morning set-up & evening set down of the venue.

3. Enviro - providing waste & recycling services around the venue.

4. Floater - performing tasks as required by the volunteer coordinator.

Event Date/Time:
June 5-7, 2026.
Fri 3:30 -10:30pm,
Sat 8am - 8pm,
Sun 8am - 8pm

Site location:
Outdoors Hugh Boyd Park (9200 No.1 Road, Richmond, BC V7E 6L5)

Working conditions:
Must be able to work outdoors in hot weather. Be prepared for the weather.

Additional information about the position:
An understanding of soccer tournaments & how they run would be helpful.

ABOUT THE VOLUNTEER:
Skills, experience, abilities required:
1.) Previous event experience as asset
2.) Basic knowledge of soccer is required for field marshalls.
3.) Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.

Personal traits/qualities desired:
Pleasant personality, organized, takes direction.

Education/ Qualifications required:
Minimum grade 10.

Languages:
English. Additional language is an asset.

Training required for this position:
1 hour Orientation meeting

Minimum Time Commitment expected:
8 hours (over the total 3 days)

RYBL Basketball Coach - Spring League 
Richmond Youth Basketball League

Description

Volunteer Basketball Coach

Richmond Youth Basketball League is looking for volunteer basketball coaches for the 2026 Spring League Season. Duties would include planning and implementing skill development practices and coaching league games.

The commitment level is as follows:

Saturday Spring League @McMath
Grade 4/5 and 6/7 Co-ed Leagues
(April 11th -June 13th)

Grade 4/5 - Session Time:11am-1245pm
Grade 6/7 - Session Time 1245pm-230pm

*You may choose between the two age groups.



Wednesday Spring League @Palmer Secondary
Grade 6/7
April 22nd - June 10th
Session Time: 7pm-9pm




*Police Record Check required

*Training will be provided

Richmond Youth Basketball League provides training opportunities and material for coaches throughout the entire season.
