Doors Open Richmond Ambassadors - 2026
RICHMOND MUSEUM

Description

On June 6-7, 2026, doors will open free of charge at multiple venues throughout the city of Richmond in celebration of Richmond's vibrant arts, heritage and culturally diverse community.

During this two-day event visitors are offered free access to everything from heritage landmarks to modern structures, hidden gems, places of worship, museums, national historic sites, and more.

Many participating partners have organized guided tours, displays and activities to enrich visitor experience. Volunteers are required to perform a four-hour morning or afternoon shift OR a 6-hour full day shift on June 6 or 7 (or both!) at a designated Richmond site. Volunteer duties might include: sharing program information and answering questions from the public, generating interest in exploring the venue and other Doors Open locations, helping to move people efficiently through a venue (for example, parking control, admissions, etc.) and other duties on site(s)

Volunteers must be able to perform tasks with minimal supervision and be comfortable working in busy event settings.

Signing up is an indication of your interest to volunteer and does not guarantee your placement in the opportunity. All volunteers who are selected for this opportunity will be notified via email from the volunteer coordinator.

Additional info: There will be a mandatory online volunteer orientation session on Wednesday, May 27, 6:00 p.m.
